I’ve been experimenting with a new idea for my Retro Alien Cryptid series — a creature design presented like a 1960s UFO field guide or old case-file page.
This one is called The Moonridge Stalker.
The original creature started as drawing practice from a cryptid drawing book, but I changed the mouth, claws, feet, and overall details to push it further into my own retro alien direction. I also added the saucer, moonlit setting, warning label, and field-guide information boxes to make it feel like something pulled from an old unexplained-phenomena archive.
I’m still learning how much layout, font choice, and color can change the entire feeling of an illustration. The warmer paper-colored boxes made it feel much more like a vintage guide than the plain gray did.
Not finished learning — just enjoying the process of building a visual style one experiment at a time.
