Working on some new projects.

I’ve been experimenting with combining laser engraving and watercolor on basswood while working on some retro-futurism robot designs.
This piece was engraved on a small wooden canvas (600 mm/min, 40% power) and then painted with watercolor. I’m curious how the mix of engraved line work and soft paint comes across.
Does the watercolor add to the piece, or would a more graphic approach work better?
Still learning and experimenting, so I’d really appreciate hearing what others notice or would change.
